This Gymleco Smith machine with counterweight provides a wider range of applications since the weight of the bar becomes only 2 kg with the counterweight. The bar is balanced by two counter weights, which are connected to the bar and run parallel to it. The purpose of the counterweights on a smith machine is to reduce the net weight of the barbell, thus allowing users to exercise with a resistance that is less than the actual weight of the barbell carriage.

If you don’t have anyone to spot you while performing certain excercises this machine might be a great alternative. The machine can be used for a variety of exercises, including squats, lunges, presses, rows and more. The machine is excellent for rehabilitation, beginner training and for those who do not have the strength to use the traditional smith machine.
